Can you create a site from a supplied design?

Yes,if you supply me with a Photoshop or Illustrator file and all of the relevant images I can create the HTML for this. If there are any aspects of the design that are not conducive to HTML I would be happy to discuss changes with your designer if necessary.

Please see the Web Design page for things that you need to consider when designing a website.

Do you host websites?

No, as a small business it is not practical to do this, however I can recommend a host and I would always recommend that you purchase your domain names and web space from the same supplier to avoid puniness transfer charges for domain names.

Having renewals and web space costs billed directly to you means that you retain control of you site and costs, plus you can go directly to the supplier if you have an issue, most of larger suppliers will offer 24/7 support.

What Browsers do you check against?

I check all sites against Internet Explorer 7 and 6 on request, plus Firefox and Chrome on the PC. I also check Safari and Firefox on the Mac. I can check against others such as Opera and if requested, but this would be an additional charge. As the code I use is to W3C standards there should be no major issues with viewing in any up to date browser. N.B. Minor variations should be expected between browsers especially older versions.

How should I supply files for websites?

Image files can be supplied in various formats such as JPG, TIF, EPS, GIF, BMP and PNG. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have permissions to use any image on your website.

You can supply copy for the site in Word, InDesign, Excel or Powerpoint (editable version).

How should I supply files for design for print?

Images for print must be supplied at high resolution, which is 300dpi at the printed size or above. Photographic images should be supplied as TIF, EPS, PSD or high quality JPG. Vector images can be supplied as EPS or AI files. Images taken from websites or resampled to finished size will not be acceptable.

You can supply copy in Word, InDesign, Excel or Powerpoint (editable version).

Can you scan images?

Yes up to A4.

Can you take photos for us?

I can take distance or staff photos, but not close up shots, this will require with a professional photographer.

Can you source photos for us?

I can source photos from a royalty free stock library and charge you per image. Prices depend on required size and there are some restrictions on use. e.g. you cannot use on anything that is to be sold.
